Reading Competition Reward Afternoon

On Thursday 28th March we held our reward afternoon for the Spring term reading competition.

On Thursday 28th March we held our reward afternoon for the Spring term reading competition. After the success of the Harry Potter reward afternoon in December, we went for a David Walliams theme this term.

Both 2B and 6D were all invited due to winning the reading competition in KS1 and KS2. However, there were also additional ‘super readers’ who were invited to join in. These were the children who were nominated by their class teacher for their enthusiasm and commitment towards reading.

During the afternoon, the children were able to wear comfy attire, as well as bringing in a blanket or cushion. They then relaxed in the KS1 hall for a special screening of ‘Gangsta Granny’. Half way through the film, the children were treated to cinema style snack of popcorn and squash.

It was lovely to see all of the children enjoy a fantastic afternoon, which was all down to their effort and hard work with reading at home.
