On Monday 23rd September, a group of our year 5 and 6 children were lucky enough to attend an author visit by Chris Riddell at CBA. 

Chris Riddell OBE was the 2015-2017 UK Children's Laureate, is an accomplished artist and the political cartoonist for the Observer. He has enjoyed great acclaim for his books for children.

 His books have won a number of major prizes, including the 2001, 2004 and 2016 CILIP Kate Greenaway Medals. He won the Costa Children's Book Award 2013 for Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse. He won the Nestle Smarties Book Prize three times.

During his talk at CBA, Chris talked about how he gets his ideas for both his writing and his illustrations - mostly in his studio at the bottom of his garden! Afterwards Chris held a book selling and signing session. The children had a great time and were totally inspired by Chris.
