An introduction to the school library

Here at Beanfield we are very lucky to have our own librarians. Once students are in Year 5 or 6 they are able to apply for a job in either the book shop or the library. Some of the ways in which the librarians assist in the library and book shop are: tidying up the library, putting out new stock in the book shop, reading with children and making book recommendations.

The librarians also take part in events throughout the year such as DEAR and frequently meet with Miss Carey to discuss new ideas and initiatives to improve the day to day running of the library and book shop. Last term, they created their own competition to see which class visited the library the most, which was won by Mrs Freeman’s class!
