Beanfield Primary School

Week 7 - 22nd February

Hello Year 3,

We hope you had a lovely half term and were able to do lots of fun things such as going on walks and making pancakes! Hopefully you also had the chance for a well-earned rest and are feeling re-energised to carry on your learning for this half term.

In English this week you will be exploring information texts, which will include looking at some examples before you start thinking about writing your own. To help you start writing your own, you will be watching a range of videos as well as making your own suspension bridge.

In Maths, we have moved onto our statistics unit. As part of this we will be creating a variety of graphs, as well as interpreting some examples too. To begin with we will be focusing on tally charts and pictograms. Electricity is our Science topic for this week and next week – this week we will be learning the names and symbols for different components of a circuit.

Monday will be a topic day where you have got a very interesting problem that you will need to try and solve by building a bridge – but first you will need to think about your materials and design brief.

As always, there is also some really fun Spanish, PE and Wellbeing tasks for you to enjoy throughout the week. In addition, remember we are uploading a weekly story for you to enjoy. This week you have Mr. O’Brien reading an extract from Matilda.

Have a lovely week everyone and we can’t wait to see some more pictures of your home learning and the fun you get up to this week.

Grown-ups: Please remember if you need any further assistance with any of this week’s home learning, or if you would like to send us in photos of some great pieces of work, you can contact us on Class Dojo or BPSY3@beanfieldprimary.org
