Physical Education
Promoting active, healthy lifestyles through engaging lessons that build confidence, teamwork, and physical skills.
Our PE curriculum, delivered using the Get Set 4 PE scheme, is designed to inspire all children to succeed and excel in competitive sport and physical activity. It supports their health, fitness, and emotional wellbeing while fostering values such as fairness, respect, and resilience.
Children develop fundamental movement skills and apply them in a range of sports and activities, both individually and in teams. Through structured lessons and active play, they build agility, balance, coordination, and tactical awareness.
We provide opportunities for all children to engage in physical challenges and competitions to develop leadership skills and experience the joy of collaboration. Our curriculum also promotes lifelong habits for physical health and mental wellbeing, preparing children to lead active, healthy lives.
External Support and Partnerships:
At Beanfield, we work closely with a number of external organisations and local partners who support and enhance our PE provision.
Northants Sport support the development of PE across the school, providing CPD opportunities for staff, workshops for pupils and organising a wide range of sporting events for children to participate in.
Chance to Shine Cricket provide cricket coaching sessions for our Year 3 pupils and also offer an after-school cricket club during giving children further opportunities to develop their skills and enjoyment of the sport.
Corby International Pool is the base for swimming lessons for Year 3 and Year 4 pupils where trained swimming coaches work alongside school staff to deliver lessons, develop water confidence, swimming ability and safety skills.
Northampton Saints provide sporting workshops for pupils and offer free girls' rugby sessions during the summer term, helping to increase opportunities for children to engage with rugby.
We also work closely with Lodge Park Academy, supporting opportunities for our pupils to develop their sporting skills and participate in a wider range of activities.
