Beanfield Primary School

Beanfield praised for response to lockdown learning

We are the latest Trust school to receive praise for the online learning we deliver to our students.

Beanfield was among the county schools to receive positive comments in an online survey by Northants Live.

According to Tina Nelson, Beanfield Primary School has ‘gone above their usual high standard of care’ during the pandemic.

She said: ‘Setting out the curriculum to children at home as if they were in school, to optimise children's learning, they have been on hand to answer all questions via way of year group email addresses.

‘Weekly well-being phone calls to check on the learning and emotional well-being of its pupils and their families. They have provided paper packs of learning to children not able to access the internet and hand-delivered or posted out those packs to families shielding.

‘Laptops have also been handed out to help children access learning. The food bank has also continued to provide much-needed supplies to struggling families.

‘Finally, they have continued to stay open to all children of front line workers and vulnerable children during term time and now, this half term holiday.’

Principal Sam Eathorne said: ‘The staff are delighted that their efforts have been recognised as we have tried to implement as much as possible to ensure that students can continue their learning successfully from home. It has been a real team effort.’

Previously both Compass Primary School and Kettering Science Academy were also singled out by parents in a previous only post by Northants Live.
