Our School Values
Beanfield Primary School Community Code
Our five core values are the principles we want to instil in our children to ensure they know how to operate successfully in school, in their local community and as responsible citizens in the world. They provide a framework within which children, parents and staff operate and this common language leads to openness, a shared understanding of our goals and a collaborative approach to children’s learning.
Each half-term we have a value of the term and then bring them all together in the final half-term. Click on the left to view the assemblies we use to launch the values with our children.
Autumn 1 - Respect
Autumn 2- Tolerance
Spring 1 - Responsibility
Spring 2 - Pride
Summer 1 - Freedom
Summer 2 - All values
In school, we expect to see children embodying these values by doing the following:
Freedom |
Respect |
Responsibility | Tolerance | Pride |
I will talk about how I want to learn. I will confidently give my opinions in a positive way. I will take the opportunity to learn from others. I have the right to share my worries and concerns. I have the freedom to make the right choices. |
I will look after myself and my belongings. I will treat people the way I want to be treated. I will look after my school and everything in it. I will speak in an appropriate and positive way. I will respect other children’s right to listen, learn and be heard. |
I will inspire myself and others to be successful learners. I will have a positive attitude towards my learning in and out of school. I will take charge of what I need to have a successful day. I will be honest and take responsibility for my actions. I will champion the school’s community code. |
I will value everyone’s differences. I will accept that other’s views and opinions may be different to mine. I will be a resilient learner. I will respect the cultural differences of everyone without judgment. I have the right to be me. |
I will take pride in my work and my learning. I will celebrate the success of myself and others. I will make sure my uniform is smart and clean. I will always try my best. I will be a proud member of Beanfield Primary School. |
Promoting British Values
Our core values deliberately embrace those fundamental values run through every element of school life and life outside of school.
The DfE have recently reinforced the need:
“to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, these values have been reiterated by the Prime Minister this year. At Beanfield these values are reinforced regularly and in the following ways:
