Admissions

To apply for a place a Beanfield Primary School, please contact School Admissions at North Northamptonshire Council. More details can be found on their website. Here you will find relevant forms and details of key dates to submit applications.  The school is unable to access or process admission information on your behalf. As soon as the Admissions Team informs us that your child has a place with us, we will contact you and make the necessary arrangements to welcome your child into school. We will also liaise with your child’s previous school and any external agencies involved with your family before your child start with us.

Application for school place in Reception in September 2024

All applications for a place at the Academy must be made through the Local Authority using the Common Preference Form. This can be accessed through this link - applications can be made online or by paper.

Where more than 90 applications are received the following oversubscription criteria will be applied:

  • Children in public care or previously in public care but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence or special guardianship order 
  • Pupils with an older brother or sister continuing at the school at the time of admission of the younger child. (See Appendix 1 for definition of ‘sibling’) 
  • Children of staff where that member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, and/or the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage in the area.
  • Pupils who live within the area defined as Beanfield. This area encompasses all houses within the bordering area of A6003, A427, Jubilee Road and Gainsborough Road; including all roads leading from Tower Hill.
  • Other pupils.

If the application is unsuccessful, parents/carers will be informed as to how to submit an appeal.

In Year Applications (for a school places in Reception (after 31st December of year of entry) to Year 6)

All applications for a place at the Academy must be made through the Local Authority using the Common Preference Form. This can be accessed through this link - applications can be made online or by paper.

The Academy will consider all applications for places. Where the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, the above oversubscription criteria will be applied. The outcome of each application will be communicated to the parent/carer within the specified timescales. If the application is unsuccessful, parents/carers will be informed as to how to submit an appeal.

Appeal Information

Parents/carers have the right to appeal an admission decision by the Academy. All appeals are heard by the Independent Appeals Panel in accordance with the School Admissions Code (2012). Please see below link to our FAQs for further information.
