Beanfield Primary School

Week 3 - 18th January

Hello Year 6!

We hope you’re all doing well.

This week in Maths, we will continue to practice multiplying and dividing decimal numbers by 10, 100, 1000 and so on. We will then move onto multiplying decimals by integers and using our skills to find solutions to problems such as working out measurements. We will be carrying on with the topic of ‘The Lost City of Atlantis’ – this week, we’ll be using the information from our research to create a piece of non-fiction writing. In SPaG, you are going to have a go at identifying prepositions in a sentence as well as contracted words. Carrying on with inheritance in Science, we will be using our findings from last week to make a poster to explain what inheritance is. Remember to use key vocabulary as well as pictures and diagrams to go with your writing. If you can, you may want to use the internet to help you with this. We are going to continue looking at the movement of tectonic plates in Topic. Finally, we will continue to practice comprehension skills in reading - remember to read through the texts carefully to help you answer the questions – this is a great time to practice your skills such as skimming and scanning.

We’re sure you’re all working very hard at home – remember to write down any questions you might want to ask your teacher during your phone call this week or else you can email us at bpsy6@beanfieldprimary.org.  You can also use this email address to send us pictures of your learning at home - we would love to see what you've been up to.

Keep safe! We hope to see you all very soon!
